Welcome to the newest part of Cambridge Early Years: an area dedicated to parents.
Since becoming a parent to my own little girl, I know how hard looking after and understanding your small human can be at times. I have also experienced the guilt, frustration and stress that many parents have over trying to do the best for their child. While I certainly don’t claim to be a parenting expert, I have found myself regularly answering questions or providing tips to other new parents I have met. As a result, I have decided to share some of my knowledge and experience gained over 20+ years of working in early years and now combined with the reality of being a parent, to help other families.

This is an area that is very much a work in progress and will be added to over the months and years to come. So please keep checking back. Follow our Facebook page to hear about updates and new workshops first.

Please take a look at the range of articles and blogs I have pulled together especially for parents. Let me know if there are any areas you would like further information on. You can do this via the contact form at the bottom of the page or by asking a question on our dedicated Cambridge Early Years parents Facbook page

Below you will find current workshops I offer for parents - new, expectant and old hands all welcome.

Workshops for Parents and Families

Below are the current sessions I offer for parents (new, expectant and old hands all welcome). Numbers are kept low at all my sessions to ensure there is time for everyone to ask questions and get the most from them.
Young children are welcome to attend any of my daytime sessions. However, please bear in mind that it is a learning environment and you may not get the most out of the session if your child requires lots of your attention. You also remain responsible for your child at all times.

Finding the right childcare can often feel like an uphill struggle, adding to the stress and guilt many parents feel about returning to work. With over 20 years’ experience working in Early Years, including managing nurseries, advising childminders and as a private nanny, I draw on my professional knowledge and experience to help you gain understanding of the childcare choices out there. By the end of this workshop I aim to give you the knowledge and confidence to feel empowered to make the right childcare choice for you and your family.

In this workshop I cover:

  • How childcare is regulated

  • Where and how to find childcare

  • The types of childcare on offer and the differences between them

  • Things to consider when deciding which childcare setting is right for you and your child

  • Government support to help pay for childcare

This workshop runs for 2 hours and has time at the end to answer questions you may have.
